OLYMPIA – Jeff Wilson, senator from southwest Washington’s 19th Legislative District, will host a town hall meeting in Aberdeen on Saturday, April 13.
Wilson, R-Longview, will appear at the Bishop Center for the Performing Arts at Grays Harbor College, 1620 Edward P. Smith Drive, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public, and questions and comments from attendees are welcome.
Wilson said he looks forward to taking questions about the 2024 legislative session. “I call it the ‘Year of the Initiative,’ because a half dozen initiatives placed before the Legislature this year by the people really changed the course of the session,” he said. Public pressure prompted the Legislature’s Seattle- dominated majority this year to roll back portions of its ‘progressive’ agenda. But Democratic lawmakers also passed a controversial new law designed to end residential and commercial natural gas service in the Puget Sound area, a costly plan that could be extended statewide.
The Aberdeen town hall is the first of two that Wilson will hold this season. Wilson also will hold a public meeting in Longview April 27, 10 a.m. to noon at the Lower Columbia College Student Center, 1600 Maple Street.
