“Thank you, Mr. President. What an honor today to be speaking to honor a great, peaceful leader. [He was] noted for many things on his leadership style, one of which was to lead by actions. I referencing one of his favorite quotes of mine, we ask ourselves what are we doing for others. And I would like to make sure we always challenge ourselves as leaders, to not just ask ourselves, but to speak these words aloud. What are we doing? What are you doing for others every day? These are the words that will carry on the honor of such a great person. So again, Mr. President, without hesitation, I support [Senate Resolution] 8603 today.”
